4 Questions to Ask Yourself About Your Wavering Faith
It’s easy to trust God when things are going easy-breezy. When there are only a few bumps in the road and your problems are minimal, why should you doubt God’s ability to resolve your issues quickly? You pray faithfully and read God’s word and follow His path for you. You remember His promises to never fail you and to abide with you always.
Then: Boom. Disaster strikes. A personal crisis overwhelms you. Cancer becomes stronger than your faith. Trials block out your ability to trust. You can’t hear God over the drumming in your ear. As your heart fills with dread and questions, His comforting presence melts away. The rock you always stood on seems to be turning to quick-sand.
The Rock is still there; unmovable in the crashing waves.
What can you do to find that firm foundation again?
1. Is God Big Enough?
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 59:8-9
He knows what you’re thinking and feeling already! He knows your heart.
“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.” Isaiah 40:28
He does not grow tired of your emotions and needs.
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…” Ephesians 3:20
He can do more, much more than we can imagine.
2. What Is His Purpose For Me?
“The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands…” Psalm 138:8;
“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
God will not leave His work in you unfinished. He can use you regardless of your circumstances.
“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 32:8
He will abide with you no matter what the outcome.

3. What Do You Know To Be True?
“Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced…” Psalm 105:5
“But then I recall all you have done, O LORD; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago.” Psalm 77:11
2 Timothy 2:13 – “If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.”
You have trusted God in the past for a reason. You have seen him answer prayers.
4.Why Does He Wait for You?
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13
You are loved with the greatest love. It is unfathomable, and complete.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God…” I John 3:1
Your faith has not been thrown into the sea. God will honor your small, hesitant faith. Even faith the size of a mustard seed is enough to start growth. He will help you hold on in the storms and take root in his love!
His Mercy is New Every Morning! He gives you a new chance to come for you to come to Him every single day! A renewed relationship is available at any time. Lamentations 3:23
